Back to ProgrammeRun by Kerry Donati from The Little Etching Studio, this workshop will take you through the ancient process of etching, one of 3 techniques used to illustrate rare books. It will demonstrate the techniques used by etchers and let you step into the shoes of a rare books illustrator and try your hand at making your own small copper plate. You will be learning about copper, ground, etching needles, editioning and acid etching and will have the opportunity to design your own illustration and etch it permanently onto a copper plate. Please note this workshop is not suitable for children under 11 because of the use of acid and white spirit.
