Lu Flux is a sustainable clothing designer based in the Kent countryside, specialising in traditional smocks. Each Lu Flux garment is hand cut from vintage, organic or naturally dyed cloth and embellished with traditional techniques. Inspired by age old British craft practises, Lu uses patchwork, quilting, smocking and hand embroidery to produce unique and wearable garments. Lu also runs a local mending club once a month teaching darning and patching techniques to help people increase the lifetime of garments and reduce waste.
In this drop-in workshop, participants are invited to bring their own well-loved clothes for tips on how to visibly mend and care for them to give them a new lease of life. Lu will be on hand with materials and equipement to teach darning and patching for all types of materials, restoring well loved items and extending the life of your garment for years to come.
