Best-loved children’s author Michael Morpurgo and his wife Clare founded Farms for City Children at Nethercott House in Devon in 1976. The charity offers urban children from all over the country a unique opportunity to live and work together for a week at a time on a real farm in the heart of the countryside.
Dandelion Time offers help to children with challenging emotional issues, often resulting from trauma, violence or serious health difficulties in the family. The charity’s approach is family-based and creates opportunities for new beginnings and improved relationships, recognising the importance of being in a peaceful natural environment, absorbing children in calming hands on activities.
Michael Morpurgo, poet, playwright, librettist and author of much-loved children’s literature, including the bestselling War Horse, joins John Hunter, the author of The Fields that Heal, to explore the healing and nourishment that can be found for children and families in nature.
Michael Morpurgo and John Hunter: in conversation will take place in the Woodland Tent on Sunday 27 June between 4.15pm and 5.15pm.
Tickets cost £14.00 per person. Please visit the programme page to book tickets.
