Frequently asked questions and our answers

Am I required to wear a face covering when attending events?

Face coverings are mandatory in any indoor space at the Festival site, including the barn, cafe and bookshop. They are also required when queuing, using facilities and talking to staff members. By law, masks must securely fit round the side of the face covering both nose and mouth. Whilst it is not mandatory to wear face coverings for events taking place in the Garden Tent, Woodland Tent, Makers Tent and Wildflower Field (which are all held outdoors, although under cover), it is still recommended that you do so

What will the seating arrangements be for events?

In light of recent government announcements concerning the extension of Covid-19 restrictions, all events will be operating at reduced capacity. Seating will be arranged to ensure social distancing can be maintained. We aim to maximise space between parties but will ensure that a minimum of 1+ metre is adhered to across venues.

Please note that ticket holders must arrive in their bubble and queue in a socially distant manner. Please do not socialise with groups outside your bubble whilst in and around the Festival site.

Will you be operating NHS Track & Trace?

In line with current legislation, contact details for all attendees will now be required. Attendees will be required to check in with the NHS Track and Trace app on arrival at the box office or provide contact details for all members of your party to a member of staff. A QR code for the event can be found at the box office.

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately only guide dogs are permitted on the festival site.

Is there a cash machine on site?

There is no cash point but most stalls will have card machines. This is dependent on the wifi connection so we would advise bringing cash or cheques as well just in case.

Are there baby changing facilities?

Yes there are baby changing facilities available.

Do you charge for car parking?

No, parking at Wealden Literary Festival is free.

Can I get there by train?
