Emma Mitchell is the brilliant author/illustrator of Making Winter: A Creative Guide for Surviving the Winter Months and The Wild Remedy: How Nature Mends Us – A Diary.
Through Emma’s beautifully hand-illustrated diary, she explores the paths and trails around her cottage and further afield, sharing her nature finds and tracking the lives of local flora and fauna over the course of a year.
This workshop is a unique opportunity to explore techniques of botanical illustration. Emma will teach you how to examine botanical specimens carefully and break down their plant forms into simple shapes and lines. She will then relay how to use this technique to draw seasonal specimens of winter blossoms, pussy willow and/or seedheads and you will fill several pages of a sketchbook with your drawings during the workshop.
